Hey, that was Halley, we are in City Starz! together and we are based in Springfield, IL...City starz is like a combination of the best singers/dancers throughout the 4 city high schools and like 6 schools in the surrounding communities!

OMG! That was so random! you're like a walking City Starz commercial!

for the solo contest I sang "Turn me on" By Norah Jones.
Some people thought the song was a little too "mature" lyrically, but I chose it cause I love the style and it works for my voice. Anyway, it was fun. Thanks for all the comments, good or bad

Koodos Miz Pooh I agree I think people forgot what show choir is all about. So for all groups that's what gives Crete that spark its not that we're ghetto even though we are a little, its just that we don't compete we preform and in the end ts not what he judges say its he feed back we get from the audience because in the end they're the real judges. I agree with what most say it came down to Crete and Danville I don't know what the judges like, but what I can say is that we proved ourselves in finals. Well good luck to everyone.

We were so happy that we did a good job in finals we didn't care what place we got, because we all had fun and the people from twinsburg can witness to that.

hey guys!

as u can see <~~~... im in cavs. and im also in faces . im the one that was in faces on stage right with the iko iko duet! cute wasnt it ;) ? well n-e wayz,

i put it like this.... i say thank you to everyone that think we could have placed higher. and for anyone else, i thank you also for taking the time out of ur busy schedule to dog us ! to reply on how we we shouldnt have made finals and danville should have.....faces could have made finals...we were right behind in 8th place. for the people putting us in front of twinsburg...thanx! thats my group but we were only 4 points behind them in finals. amazingly! i thought show choir was about the love of performing? well thats how i take it. it just seems like there are a lot of greedy people out there. people who love to hear that they where great and should have came out on top and they were already in finals i feel like people feed off of it. for me, when i dont make finals and people put me ahead feels great. well, i guess we'll see everyone again at.....twinsburg, mundelein, chicagoland showcase, and tennesse. if anyone has to reply to what ive said, id really like it if u e-mail me personally.

thanx (no harm intended )

haha yea if i (Elliott) tried to sing michael jackson, id probably hurt something....ive got a range, but not like that haha...if i had my current range, plus Mike Jacko high notes, id be a freak of nature ohmy.gif

anyway...this post isnt about me anyway...lol "shaggy hair boy"....i dont think he has an identity on this forum thing or whatever...so ill fill yall in....thats me lad, Jon Speagle...and hes been in EEE for two years...freshman year(2001) he was in it, but left before comp. season, due to complications and it wasnt working for him...but, thankfully, he rejoined EEE again last year(as a junior, JIC anyones wondering what year he is)....last year he didnt have long 'shaggy' hair, but he did, however, have a solo in the show, so if you saw us last year, that was him..singing "I believe in love"...our ballad...

just fyi! hooray!

Foghorn and 420Maria04 need to either stop posting or learn how to judge groups because those were the worst critiques I have seen of this competition.

.....

Yeah, many of you are gonna give me crap for that, but just shut up because that's the truth and Ona deserved it so don't even bother posting.

WHOA NELLY! No need to be hateful now guy... opinions are opinions... PERIOD! No one has the final say on who was best.... and I know my opinions are biased... but I can't help that. I you listen to Judges tapes you will see differences in what they all liked and disliked... it's the same thing. So please, don't be rude, it's not neccessary.

i thought that the groups did wonderful this weekend... i honestly yes thought that the placements were a littlf off.. not by much! i thought that eisenhower deserved best vocals... definitely!! and of course OHS should have gotten best choreography... there choreography looks very challenging... i saw much more energy in the EEE show though then i did in the OHS show... but yet... Congrats to OHS wonderful job!!

As far as the Danville controversy... i think that both Danville and Crete should have been in finals... I dont think that Sullivan should have been in finals... i thought u lacked much energy.. and i saw so much energy and great vocals from both of the other groups.. so i thought that they should have been in finals and Sullivan should have not... and in finals i thought that Sullivan should have gotten last and Crete before them...

Propts to Danville n Crete wonderful jobs!!!

Hmmm can I be the first to tell you that who are you to go saying all that crap about the groups?  What are you, a judge? No, you're a student.  I went to Mt. Zion as a spectator, not even going in with a favorite group, and I called it from 5th runner up to Grand Champion.  I was in no way having a favorite or wanting one group to win over the other.  Just because you may have something against another group or maybe you're jealous, doesn't mean you have to go and bash on someone else's group and praise your favorite group.  Every group deserved what they got, and the judges were very fair on placement.  Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS to all the groups, you all were fantastic~

Ummm, wow! Don't be rude, it's not nice Just smile and let it go! Now, to all the groups that performed at Mt. Zion you guys did a great job! And City Starz Wish you the best of luck! To Sarah Brown and Elliot Robinson congrats on winning best soloist! Sarah Brown what's next? Maybe American Idol! ;)

To everyone criticizing Onalaska, I think you should take in to account that they got there bout half an hour before their warmups and spent bout 8 hours driving through an ice storm.  These kids worked hard under these circumstances and deserved what they got.  Awesome job Onalaska.

Wow, god only knows whih route Onalaska took to get to Mt Zion if it took them 8 hours. The ice storm was about the first 30 minutes of their trip........I would give them a good 6 1/2 hours

Ok, I understand that, and it would suck... but we're talking about their performance... not why they performed that way

Ok, I'm going to post what I thought of the finals results... these are my OPINIONS and are to be treated as OPINIONS!

Placement should have been:
G.C. Totino
1st Runner up EEE
2nd Runner up Onalaska
3rd Runner up Twinsburg
4th Runner up Crete
5th Runner up Sullivan

B.V. Totino
B.C. EEE

Totino:
You guys rock! Before going to MTZ I had heard a lot about how good you guys were, but didn't really know what to expect! You guys had awesome energy throughout your show, your vocal dynamics and blend were excellent, and your choreography very clean! I loved your 2nd number (The tango/twin thing!) That was the most HILARIOUS number I have ever seen! I very rarely laugh out loud but that did it for me! I was very impressed by your "scene change" number, as my director commented... the group as a whole did not once stop singing in that number... it was just continuous! Good Job Guys!

EEE:
I was very impressed by your show this year! You were my favorite group in 2001 and then lost it a little bit that past two years... But this year you were better than I have ever seen you! Your vocal blend was very good and choreography was awesome! I don't think I was never bored during your show (Except maybe a little in "Crazy in Love"). I also want to comment that your soloist were all amazing! Especially the three in the ballad and Elliot in the next song. (Congrats on best male soloist!) You guys will get your G.C. sometime this year... I know it!

Onalaska:
Ok, I had very mixed opinions of you this year. Compared to years past, your vocals just aren't what they used to be, though they were still good. However, your choreography was a lot better than I have seen it. I just don't think that it was the cleanest there. I felt that your show lost a lot toward the end... In other words I could tell you were tired. As far as your ballad, I thought that Sarah did an amazing job! But, the ballad is really meant to show off your groups talent... not hers. She proved to the crowd that she could sing when she won the solo contest... but I wanted to know if the rest of the group could sing. Other than that, I did enjoy your songs and think that dwights choreography looked good on you! lol!

Twinsburg:
I thought you guys did a good job, I enjoyed the racing them and really liked your opener! (Never thought of it as a show choir song until now...) I wasn't that impressed by your choreography in that it never looked very crisp. It seemed like every song was just one big move. Your visual effects were very good though! I liked your back drop, though I should have brought sun glasses (kinda like last year...) Your vocals were also good. I just really think you deserved the place you got.

Crete:
I was proud of you guys! You really improved a lot since Southmont and I enjoyed the new number! (and costumes) My director was talking to us the other day about how a judge last year had called us "honest" meaning that he really believed what we were singing... and I really see that in you guys! Everyone is getting really in to it and I can just really feel what you're singing about! Your choreography was very impressive, and you had very good vocal moments (The ballad and that swing brother swing song) but I know you can do better! Good Luck in the rest of the season!

Sullivan:
To be perfectly honest... I was disappointed. Compared to years past your vocals have almost disappeared... I didn't really hear any amazing vocal moments. I was excited when I saw you putting up the "emerald city" and when my friend guessed that you would be doing "Defying Gravity" and "For Good" (He's just good at predicting songs...) but I was not at all impressed on how they were done. Your show was boring to be honest. And I really felt that your set and props has just taken over your group this year. I was trying to see if your choreography was clean... but then got distracted by a shiny zebra stripped backdrop, or a really long grand piano (maybe that was on purpose?) One thing that I was impressed with was that you guys did do a lot better in finals compared to prelims. You were really the only group that I could see a big improvement in.

So, what did you think? Your welcome to comment on whether you agree or disargee... just don't call me wrong!

yea Onalaskas closer is pretty similar to MTZ's 2ndsong but i noticed that there was sum dynamic differences... but i thought it was very similar.. but i also thought that they did a very good job ... Congrats to OHS!! Nice job this weekend!
