how is it possible that Lawrence Central won and the won no caption award? Isn't this ISSMA site, so it would be hard to win with no caption at all? I am confused.

It is possible to win if you are in a very close second in both categories and one group won vocals but got a low visual and visa versa! when you average out the points thats how it works!

The concert results were reported in error at the contest. One of Ben Davis' scores were given to Mooresville. The correct results are...

Grand Champion - Ben Davis
1st Runner Up - Heritage Christian
2nd runner-Up - Mooresville

HC

well the winners were

HC
mooresville
BD

but i heard that the scores got mixed up some how and it ended up

BD- GC
HC- 1st RU
mooresville-2nd RU

I watched both HC and BD perform. HC had really great moments but I believed that BD blew them out of the water and was shocked with their 3rd placement.

AAh this was such a great competition I'm still talking about it!

I was there from 830am until 1230am watching AWESOME shows.

Here's what I thought about finals.

LC- Your vocals were amazing. Not going to lie, when I saw your show in prelims, I thought it was kind of weird because I personally felt that the show did not mesh well together. But in finals, you guys really brought it and your vocals again, were amazing and your choreography SO clean. great job.

PIKE- My babies! I am definitely a little biased, ok A LOT but you guys REALLY brought it. I'm serious. Chills throughout the entire show. I CANNOT wait to see what you bring to Ben Davis this saturday. Congrats on 1St Runner Up!

BD- Your show was so fun! Seriously the energy was there from the very beginning right until the very end. I LOVED the guitar hero part. Very creative! And your vocal caption was well earned!!

PLAINFIELD- I was honestly surprised at how much you guys were able to dance with that many people on stage. Sometimes when a choir has that many people all they can really do is arm-ography. Your choreo was clean and really well done and you guys were great!

CASTLE- I saw your show in prelims, but I didn't get to see it in finals. In prelims you guys really surprised me! I think you're only a group of like 26 or something and you sounded AWESOME! Keep bringing it guys, rep the little choirs!

BBURG- With you being Pike's sister choir, I was surprised when you guys were announced last. The difference you brought from finals was remarkable. The energy and vocals were amazing during finals. Don't let your heads hang it was an amazing performance, keep up the good work!

Everyone was AWESOME! I can't wait to be a creepy alum again at BD!

I was really impressed with Pike this competition. They really brought it. The vocals in the opener were great. I liked how the opener was similar to NC 2008 opener with the amazing vocals and the costumes for both of the closers were similar. Pikes vocals were great for a smaller size group and the choreography was challenging and clean.

well to generally answer your question...yes it is rare for a choir to win with no captions, but it is possible. if one choir is great at choreography and mediocre at vocals (winners of a visual caption), and another choir is great at vocals and mediocre at choreography (winners of a vocals caption), while a third choir is good at both...the choir with the better overall average wins. im not saying that this is for sure what happened because none of the finalist were mediocre at anything by any stretch of the imagination...this is just to say, its possible to win w/o a caption.

The information above is false
for the Single-Gender division, the results were:

GC: Lawrence Central
1RU: Pike (Visuals)
2RU: Ben Davis (Vocals)
3RU: Castle
4RU: Plainfield
5RU: Brownsburg

um...the Single-Gender division is the all women's division. And those results are the ones for the Mixed Choirs. It's cool, i just know that there were only 4 spots in the women's division, not 6.

Now, I shall comment and compliment on all the choirs that were there.

LC: The opener had our choirs on our TOES. It has such a great impact and it was truly awesome.

Pike: I've heard many great things about this choir, I can see you guys moving to the top in no time whatsoever!

Ben Davis: I didn't get to see your show in the auditorium but the video looked good. Good luck in the future.

Castle: (i'm part of this choir) Just have to say that we are super grateful for the opportunities we got in this competition.

Bburg: I didn't get to see your show but I'm sure you'll have a good season. Castle experienced some hostility from your end, but I'm sure now that we're all chill, we aren't mad at eachother. It was a great opportunity to compete with you.

Plainfield: Loved the ribbons. You guys have wowed me in the past and I hope that you can continue to wow everyone else! Go plainfield!

Warren Central: you killed it! Every number was phenomenal and it was an honor to see you guys. You guys are so clean, even with the minor changes of choreo I heard you guys went through just days before your competition. No one could tell any difference! You guys are a powerhouse!

Thanks to everyone at Warren Central for putting on a well run competition. I thought all the groups did an excellent job and showed a tremendous amount of creativity. I especially wanted to congratulate Mooresville, who I thought should have made the finals and had a great overall show.

LC: You guys are awesome! Loved the opener
Pike: WOW!!! You guys really brought it to finals. I thought you guys were gonna leave with the GC! You're closer made me rock out in my seat... haha
Ben Davis: Guitar Hero!?!?!?!?! I loved it!
Castle: I didn't get to see you're show, but congrats on moving up in finals!
Bburg: Great finals show, I was shocked you got 6th. You're second number made me laugh nonstop.
Plainfield: Being an Alum of B et B I am a bit biased. Your show this year has amazing potential! Just keep working and don't get down.
Warren Central: I loved you show! The guys number is TIGHT!!!

Warren Central:

G.C.-Lawrence Central
1RU-Pike (Best Visual/Choreography)
2RU-Ben Davis (Best Vocals)
3RU-Castle
4RU-Plainfield
5RU-Brownsburg

And I just recieved word that Warren Central, if able to win, would have taken GC. They were ranked 1st visual, and 2nd vocally. However, since they were hosting, they were not able to take the trophy. They were AWESOME!!
