Dang! That sucks... most of our band are in one of the jazz bands. I can't imagine them not being able to participate!

[btw- the all state jazz band comment -> westside composes something like 85% of it. they're ridiculous.]

I think they made up a more ridiculous percentage of the all-state jazz band last year. After losing 11 seniors (out of a formerly 13-member band) last year I was a little worried about how they would do this year, but they have proved that they can get by on their own.

Is the competition usually held in their auditorium or gymnasium?

Sadly, this year the band dpt at Valley won't allow jazz band members to participate anymore- so our pool to choose from has been significantly more limited.

Man, is our band wanting the caption. They've been meeting multiple times a week since november. They reeeeeally want to go 4/4. It doesn't hurt that they're going up against the all-state jazz band.

That reminds me of our combo last year. We had quite the talented bunch that was extremely enthusiastic about winning the only thing that actually recognized them Sadly, this year the band dpt at Valley won't allow jazz band members to participate anymore- so our pool to choose from has been significantly more limited.

I don't know if you can say they're 'greatly improved' because they were pretty darn amazing last year. They probably are better, but if they were 'greatly improved', I think they'd be sweeping everything easy.

Not even the walking tacos! Apparently it's been proclaimed the epicenter of a legit flu/cold epidemic. I'm with 'em on that one- I've been home sick for 4 days now.

anywayyyyzzz (my fault though, so... shame on me!)

I'm confused as to why they would get involved..?

Lots of people got sick at Viva Papillion from the walking tacos. I believe this is what he was referencing.

I would not be surprised if Dowling cracked into finals with what I saw last year. If they keep improving off of what the did last year I could see Dowling becoming a force to reckon with within the next 3-4 years.

Dowling has improved greatly. Last year they were very clean and had so much energy. They were GREAT to watch at Emmetsburg where they received Grand Champions. They have a great director and they just keep getting better.

I think its gonna be

GC: Omaha (captian sweep)
1RU: Valley
2RU: Lincoln
3RU: GISH
4RU: Dowling
5RU: Westwood

Westwood is a small 2A school in Western Iowa, but their show choir program is great. They aren't really heard of but they tend to finish well at competitions and above groups such as Millard West, etc.
