ok, everyone talks about being screwed over at competitions. You all have to understand, if there were three (or four) different judges at these competitions, the results would have totally been different. I'v been to competitions before where I have felt like we have been screwed over, but I have to understand that the director of the host school really has nothing to do with it. Possibly the judges are just bias towards certain groups. The world of show choir is soooo unpredictable....When I was in school, I used to be so shocked at some of the results of some of the competitions I went to, and even now in college when I read these boards, even though I didn't see those choirs that day, I get a little shocked when certain groups don't make finals and certain groups won over certain groups. But I never once talked about how "screwed over" these competitions are. I can say that as a Capital alum, our director keeps everything as fair as she can. She's a fair, honest woman, and she would never influence any judge to score high for a certain group at a competition. She goes by her festival rules that are printed to every director.

Just remember that the next time you feel like you have been screwed over and BTW, getting worked up over not winning takes the fun out of show choir! Have fun now because once you get to college, you will miss it so much!

Hey can anyone from St. Clairsville tell a graduated show choir fanatic if there is going to be a video company at the competition. I'm not sure I can attend so I'd like to know how to get in touch with the video company to order a tape of the show...thanks!

I can't wait for this competition! We're making a weekend of it since it's so far away from E-Wood. I honestly can't make any predictions because I've only seen three of the groups. Good luck to everyone and I know it's going to be a blast! I'm going to build on what Singinamy05 said and ask that our hosts please don't put any balloons in our rooms. Our theme is walking (which is a whole lot cooler than it sounds, trust me) and I'm ready to make some new friends! I'll be one of the shorter girls in Edgewood's group. I'll be wearing my black Choraliers t-shirt (like everyone else in the group), but I'll probably have a Mickey Mouse blanket with me. So if anyone's up for a new friend, find me!
