She works in that big building beside Womens and Childrens Hospital (Columbia Natural Resources). Her wedding starts at 4:00! I can't wait. It's going to be beautiful! Her theme is castles. My daughter will be in Orlando that day performing at FAME. JJ if anyone understands your situation with baseball!! Have you met the guy she's marrying? He's top notch!!! Her mom works with us, too! She's a wonderful lady!

Good luck with baseball this year!!

I'll be sure to tell JJ. I love her, too!!! I didn't go to work today because my son has been throwing up all night long. I'll give her a call later and tell her!

I was supposed to go to Jonathan's sister's bridal shower on Saturday, but with this being a chance for Winfield to get GC and it being my daughter's senior year, I decided I'd better be with her. I usually work backstage on the backdrop before the crew takes it on stage, but I was testing the crew to see if they could handle it without me. They are going to FAME Orlando without me this month.

I'll add you to my buddy list!

Of course you know I love it because after all...it's about ME!  " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />  You all performed your hearts out!  If Mr. Kincaid could've seen you, he'd have been proud.  I enjoyed watching him direct, too!  One question....were you missing a piece of your steps?  From where I was sitting, I could see the guys changing behind the risers.  There were a lot of naked knees blushing.gif , but I don't know if anyone else saw it or not.  WE LOVE YOU, POCA!

Luke, I had forgotten you were from HOOVER!  My brother teaches there and my nephew is the drummer for your show choir.  I only got to see him when he was playing yesterday.  Ask him if he saw his cousin (Tiffany) perform with Winfield? I also work with someone who graduated from Hoover.  She came to see Tiffany perform yesterday, too.  She's getting married on the 19th...Congrats, JJ!!

Nitro, Wow!  You guys really have a lot of energy.  Scott, I don't see how you did it after having All County and then a late night baseball/early morning baseball practice, then coming and performing your heart out!  It was good to see your sister there, and your grandmother would have been shouting the loudest for you! I sat beside her at States when it was at POCA.  She was your biggest fan.

Buckhannon-Upshur, You have some really nice kids in your choir...if any of you are on here send me a PM.  I was one of the mom's who sent you the star gram...well actually it was innocent bystander, but I was her accomplice. ;)

Huntington, You did a good job.  You have a lot of talent in your choir.  Hope to see you guys again.  Will you be at States?

HUGE congrats to Winfield on your 2nd GC in 25 years (?). It's great that even at a small competition you can still have great competition between a few top show choirs.

Hey, Luke....was it you who sent Sandra Cole the star gram?

Nitro's soloist was Stephanie Monday (or Mundy) I just wrote it down...not sure of the spelling of the last name.

Best performers in each choir were as follows: (sorry if I mispell names)

Winfield: John John Horn
Huntington: Steven Johnson
Poca: Amber Chapman
Nitro: Stephanie Stacey
Herbert Hoover: Jessica Silver
Buckhannon-Upshur: Andrew Esquer

Megan....saw you there but never got close enough to say hey! I never said I ever thought a consolidation would ever take place in this county...I only meant if there ever was one that it would have amazing everything. And I know directors have been begging for an auditorium, but it's still a great idea. If the general public who never ever have been to a show choir concert or a musical, band concert...etc. would support an auditorium in Putnam County, maybe it could happen. " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I thought Cabell Midland's auditorium was very nice. Wish Winfield had one! Cabell-Midland did a wonderful job!!!! I loved your show, too. I didn't get to see it at MusicFest. This time I saw every show.

I had a fun (but short) day. I enjoyed watching all the choirs & great job to Cabell Midland on their first comp. Buckhanon-Upshur soprano in "The Lion Sleeps Tonight": you were incredible. How did you do that without hurting yourself? Very impressive. Special congrats to John-John & Drew for your awards. And a HUGE congrats & lots of hugs to Winfield for winning! You guys were awesome & deserved the GC! This is only Winfield's 2nd GC in their entire existance of 25 years. The last time they won Poca's director was still in GA. I'm so happy for you guys. Btw Haught, thanks for the compliments about my posts! LOL. You know I luv ya or I wouldn't drive you so crazy!

Though a Putnam County High School show choir would be pretty impressive, just think that if there was only one show choir that most of the people now involved would not be. Only the creme da la creme of singers/dancers, instrumentalists, & crew members. Plus only one director would be allowed, meaning 3 wouldn't be around. I happen to think Haught, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Hopkins, & Mr. Kincaid all have something unique to bring. I know that had they consolidated while I was still in high school that I never would have made the show choir. I have talent, but there are many more talented people than I in this county. Just a dose a reality, sorry if I bursted anyone's bubble or angered anyone. If I did, please know that it was not intended. I can be nice (though don't ask Haught, he likes to tease me about it, lol) I'll be there today so try & find me if you wanna!

i think it would be an awesome idea to consolidate or sumthing..that would be the coolest thing ever...the school would be like near 3000 students!!! AHH thats a lot lol..i heard yesterday that they are wanting to make poca high and poca middle into 1 school..they've already done it at richie county and were soon..lol that would be weird being with a bunch of 6th graders...OMG its only like 13 hours until the competition!!! thats crazy..im going bed lol

That's how Winfield was back when my mom was in school. The opened the current high school the year after she graduated. Even with all those middle schoolers Winfield only had about 500 students...how things change

Everyone knows that an auditorium is needed in Putnam County. If you've never heard any of the choir directors plead for just this then you just flat out don't listen. The "please talk to officials about an auditorium in Putnam County" speech is a yearly ritual I know for Haught. As I have heard it since Fall 1998 I can assure you that he never forgets (he likes to talk, as we all know). I'm not saying this to sound mean, but this is not a new idea so please know that there are some of us who have been pleading for years now to no avail. Of course we still need to work on it. Putnam County will continue to need an auditorium. As for the consolidated "Putnam County High School"? That will never happen. There are too many people fighting against consolidation in this county for it ever to happen...though it would be interesting to see. I will see you all on Saturday as I am an sc junkie. So good luck to all & say hi if you have any idea who I am!
