Thanks for your encouragement!  I really liked your closer! (Stomp, right?)  I think you were the only group I saw all day try a gospel song, and I thought you did it well!

Thank you so much for that compliment! We knew that this was the last competition, so we were just saying we needed to have fun, and get the audience as involved as possible...Stomp is one of the songs that gets EVERYBODY hype, and as you all know, that's exactly what it did! So thanx Miss M. for the compliment:-D and good luck with show choir next year, hopefully i'll be able to come back and see everyone.... Best Female Soloist went to Dana Holmes from Denbigh High School Patriot Phantasy.

I am the director from Menchville and we had a great time this weekend.  The perception from most people is that we were a brand new show choir, but the truth is more like we're starting over.  This was my first show choir competition ever, and having formerly competed in a lot of pageants, I really expected this scene to be a lot like that one...kind of cut-throat.  But I am GLAD to say I was very wrong.  We were the smallest show choir of the day and the only ones to not have a show band (yet!).  The whole audience was so supportive.  People screamed for us, and stood at the end of our performance.  My students had a blast at this competition.  They thought that everyone was very nice to them, and they (and I) certainly enjoyed seeing all the other great choirs.  They were still talking about it in class today.  I want to thank everyone in the audience for you maturity and support.  I know that overall awards are still a bit away in our future (hopefully), but we were glad to step into the competition circuit this weekend.  Thanks for being awesome!

please tell your group that I thought they were awesome...

Wow! Thanks soo much! I was suprised by the atmosphere as well. The shool-name chants before the awards ceremony was awe-inspiring that the competitive spirit is strong, but doesn't make things ugly.

Thank you everyone for making my first (and last) show choir competition so memorable. It makes me want to stay back and do it again next year. Anyone know if there's a college-level competition scene? and is it as much fun?

Congrats to everyone at the comp. The themes were great. The sounds were astounding. The costumes (and costume changes) were magical.

A word of warning, though...

Menchville's coming back, and there ain't no gettin' off this train we on!

Next year, we go for the Superior!

Well, they certainly thought you all were awesome. We certainly thank you for the compliment. After your mixed group went, they all ran up to me..."Miss Millard, that was so cool! That gave me the chills!". They were really into your ballad. Hard to believe that a show choir that looks like you guys doesn't get a superior everytime!

Thanks again!

I would also like to say that Monocan's mixed did an excellent job. Their male group also was one of the groups that got their show together for the last competition, their closer is very much enjoyable

Congratulations to LC Bird. You bounced back tremendously from the Hanover competition. That was the best way to end an emotional season.

So I guess that means that (by combining my member name, and Willie's) Sudden Image 2005 is Making History

Really though, we have come a long way. (I could make a long speech yet I am in keyboarding class " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

i know that bird was the underdog for this competition...but then again this is the first competition since west va that something didn't go wrong right before we performed...Erica passed right b4 powhatan...a light blew backstage and we sat for 10 minutes losing all focus we had right b4 we went on at manchester...our closing soloist got knocked unconsious (sp?) right b4 lee-davis...don't get me wrong i am not trying to make excuses for our excellents...we performed poorly i'll admit...but kecoughtan just went perfectly...just thought i would clear things up...so congrats to everyone that performed...its been a GREAT season...
