I was priviledged to host Thomas Dale's boys at the LD/Hanover comp. last year and oh my god! Your choir director is amazing. I have NEVER heard that vocal quality out of an all-male show choir, EVER. Almost a year later, and I'm still in shock...wow.

thanks. i graduated in 04 but am still involved in alot of things. Stanny is basically the best director i've ever had. she brings out the best in EVERYONE. She is amazing.

That's right, James River, I knew I was forgetting a school. I am surprised Bird hasn't formed one yet, but then again, I am not surprised. We didn't have too many guys auditioning for show choir (at least during my short show choir career). We had to recruit (within our own school) like crazy, and even then, many of them did not want to do it. So has Motoaca become any better? I must say, it didn't surprise me that Hanover won a competition last year...they became very good, very fast.

well guys is getting better and better every year. that's where all the guys go that don't make mixed go since we don't have a 9th grade choir anymore. but it's all freshman for the most part and specialty center kids...i think it's just Us, Manchester, Monocan and James River....it'll probly stay that way for a while...

Hey, that's right. I totally forgot that you guys had a guys show choir too. How are they doing? Are there anymore schools that decided to form a guys choir? Or still just Manchester, Monocan, and Thomas Dale?

So, who do you think will be good as far as the Single-Gender division is concerned? Is Bird still good in that departmant, or is that a thing of the past as well?

In my own opinion, I do not believe Bird will as good as we were before for a couple of years...but oh well. Wow, I know Hanover was probably thrilled, man. I am glad to hear they are progressing and such a rapid rate.

1. Thomas Dale - they won two comps. Powhatan and Kecoughtan
2. Hanover - they won the Mid-Atlantic show choir Inv.
3. I forgot who won L-D....umm....

well basically it was all dale and hanover...

bird's show was ok last year.....it just didn't have that kick that it needed. but they got a superior i think at L-D...

Did you happen to see there show last year (Bird's that is)? What did you (honestly) think about it? Who was the dominate choir in Virginia (or if you could, name the top three, in your opinion)? I wanted to see at least one competition last year, but being here in Nashville (plus the price of both flying or driving) hindered that a bit...

Yeah, so I am just curious to know who might be attending this competition. Also, perhaps, if you are attending, you could list what songs your choir shall perform (that is, only if you desire to do such).
