I'm sorry everyone, please excuse some of the Albertville comments in this thread...obviously my little talk with the choir wasn't understood by everyone (freshmen). That talk will be taken into deeper detail tomorrow.

Congratulations to everyone!

Amen to that.  The forum is to talk about show choir and discuss different views/opinions.  God forbid someone expresses his/hers.

I might as well just quit now..It's not helping me any to have to keep from saying the things I really want to, and trying to be nice about all the things some of these people are saying is becoming WAAAAY too hard.  So, I plan to read, and only read, from now on (in this topic, that is).

Congratulations Albertville, and good luck next weekend at Opelika.

There, I'm done.

Ok look, I get what your saying, but I didn't mean it that way. I meant it as don't dis what people have put hard work into. We haven't said any bad things about your show, so why dis ours. I believe in all my heart that it was God and our dedication that won us that competition. Please think before you speak, just because you don't like our show doesn't mean that we are doing anything wrong, all we were doing was taking the judges comments and putting them into action. And no, judging is not all about opinion, some things are fact, like singing out of key or missing a dance move. And I'm not saying all this to bring you down, because I'm not like that. I just wish that maybe you would watch some of the things you say... James has already pointed this out once, but I'll do it again...

"...but it seemed like we were watching a dance competition with vocal breaks, instead of the other way around."

The judges told us to cut our closer and it helped us in the long run, they wanted to see more dancing than singing in the closer.....thanks for your opinion on that one, but if the judges didn't like it they would have said so.

judge:
1. To form an opinion or estimation of after careful consideration.
2. To form an opinion or evaluation.

Judging is all about opinion.  So, logically speaking, NOT judging on one's own opinion is wrong in and of itself.

But after reading some of the comments on here, I can see that a few people think Albertville didn't deserve it. Well, you can think what you want, but we did our best and I know everyone in the choir worked their butts off. So please don't judge us on your own opinion.

Well, you should have tried/done your best, and I'm sure you did work your butts off..but does that make you any different than the other choirs in finals? Not by a long-shot, kid.

Hey! It's my first year in choir, and I just got back from my second competition.!. It was quite fun. I want to thank everyone for their support. But after reading some of the comments on here, I can see that a few people think Albertville didn't deserve it. Well, you can think what you want, but we did our best and I know everyone in the choir worked their butts off. So please don't judge us on your own opinion.

I loved everyone's shows.

Homewood- Yaw were awesome, keep up the Good work. ( I didn't get to see a lot of yor show, or I would say more.

Tropical Wave- Awesome Costumes, Your leather Jackets smell really good. (Sorry for freaking you out if I sniffed your jacket.) You guys looked great up there.

South Jones- Loved the guys feature. Your motions were awesome, and so together. You are just awesome Can't wait to go to competition with you again. See you in Opelika.

Picayune- I love your green costumes!!! (Green's my favorite color.) Your backdrop was cool also. Keep up the good work.

These are the only choirs I saw so I can't comment on the others...sorry!

To all my A'ville Show members- I love yall!!!

(Oh yeah, for those who are wondering, Albertville is in Alabama. The fire hydrant Capital of the world!!!)

Love/ Jonna Greer
