and beech was in 8th place... we found these results cause our directors daughter goes to belmont and so does her best friend... so we kind of got the results a little earlier than everyone else

But, I keep getting the feeling that there are people who are posting things here that don't think that the judge desisions for that finals were completely correct.  I know that everyone is entitled to express their opinions and that's why I'm chosing to express mine-we worked our butts off to get into the finals and we have not done any better this season than we did on saturday night and I do not appriciate those people who are just kind of nodding around saying that certain groups didn't deserve to get placed where they were place because everyone worked their butts off for this and performed their show to a certain extent and whether that was a first place or an eighth place performance in their minds or the minds of their directors they were judged a certain way. And it shouldn't be about feeling bad or good about how you or any other group did, it should be about improving yourself and your group based on what the judges told you for your next comp.

Let me start this off by saying, this is MY OWN opinion, I am in no way speakin for anyone else, it is just how I feel!!

But, if we are entiled to express our own opinions, then you really have no right to '"not appreciate" people saying that they dont agree with what the judges decided. I understand that yall (Opelika) worked yalls butts off, but so did other groups and when judges score a group in the 90s and then a 70 it really makes not sense & makes you disagree with the way the judges judged.
So all in all, I am not getting mad @ you or trying to be rude, I am just expressing my opinion on the matter, in saying that I have a reason behind disagreeing with what the judges thought-and it isnt because yall or anyother group made finals- so dont think that- it was because the scoring was just a bit random in my opinion!!

Love Yall, Ains!!

GOOD LUCK to everyone @ Petal!! (i can't wait)

Hi Everybody!!

This was my first time ever getting to go to Belmont and I had a blast (even though there were some "strange" points) so, I just wanted to throw my two cents in about who made finals

Based on the comments that I have read ya'll think everyone should have been in finals which in a perfect world would be grand but it's just not possible in the world that we live in today!!

I don't know about the students from all of the other groups in the finals but I know that we (Opelika) worked our butts of since October and really cleaned our show in order to make it the best it could be and we've been going at it like crazy! After Homewood most of us were very disappointed about not making finals so we stepped it up another notch before we went to Nashville and we performed our two best shows of the season! I know that everyone else worked hard and I congradulate you for you hard work and energy and I want to thank everyone who praised us and I want you to know that it means A LOT to us!

Just remember everyone that scoring is subjective and though one judge may give you an 8 out of 10 on diction and another may give you a 3 out of 10 you can only use it to better yourself or your group for whats to come. I'm not trying to sound rude and sorry if you feel that I am I just worked really hard for Saturday night and I don't want what I believe to be two of our best performances to be tainted because of other people's opinions. I love you guys and I wish you all the best of luck at your next comp!!

I have not seen the sheets yet, but I believe that Manchester tied for 10th with ETC both groups being 10 points out of finals. Colerain placed 9th. Thats all I know....

Sorry for this mix up, the results we were while someone was driving and the scores blurred togheter..

MANCHESTER PLACED 6th, not 10th sorry again

ETC was 10th and Colerain was 9th....I believe Homewood placed behind Manchester.

They do, his name is Rob Haines. His daughter is in Belmont's Company (Erica).

Just wondering: did anyone have a chance to see Melodic Impact from Beech High School????

I am wondering how Manchester did not even make finals...........

I wasn't there, but the common comment regarding Manchester is that their combo band was too loud. That will get you sometimes... the score sheets will come out soon though, and we'll get to see where everybody stacked up beofre finals.

Chris... do you know when they are supposed to come in? Sometime next week?

i competed against manchester last year, they beat us by like one point in finals, AWWWW but they were good, but i don't think they hold a candle to hurricane or any of those finalist choirs. And as for martinsburg this yar i was very dissappionted, they were always good this year is not impressive at all, their vocals are not very good at all, but maybe they imporved since teays but good luck.

I am wondering how Manchester did not even make finals...........they are still a great show choir in my opinion. I wish I could have been there. As for Hurricane...we will be competing against them this weekend at the Central Virginia Invitational at Manchester HS....so...yeah...also Martinsburg....
