I just wanted to say the everyone did awesome at Opelika! I had an awesome time, and I enjoyed seeing everyone's show. But I just have to say one thing about Spain Park: you guys are awesome! Ya'll were so nice to us in the dressing room, and ya'll completely deserved to win. You have become West Jones' new favorite group! Good luck to everyone next weekend....I can't wait to see everyone there!

I enjoyed Southern Showcase minus the constant obnoxious screaming from certain groups. My choir director would've killed us if we acted like that, lol. Spain Park was awesome as usual and so were the Showstoppers. It's a shame that Auburn didn't compete, though. The Divas needed some competion, J/k. I also enjoyed the Ovation's performance. Their sound was much stronger.

Hey! This is Kelsey from Petal.
Wow.. I really liked Opelika's competition!.. This is the first time I've been since 8th grade! haha. But the entertainment value of the day was UNBELIEVABLE. Every group was great in their own way. I made a lot of friends, the girls from Enterprise were so nice in the dressing room. It was nice to have met y'all!. It was good getting to see a lot of old friends, Lauren, JT, RJ, Amanda, Angela, Will, Bobby, Spencer, Chris B, Mitchell, Will G. I love y'all!.. Congrats to Albertville and Enterprise!.. Y'all were both amazing groups... Albertvills, we didn't get to watch you of course but I snuck in and saw the bow/tag.. and y'all still had a lot of energy so y'all must have tons of it! I can't wait to see y'all in Homewood ( if we can, hopefully! if not, I'll definitely video-tape or get the finals tape! ) Enterprise: WOW.. I did get to watch and I looooved it!.. Visual effect was definitely all you. Everything was so sharp. I absolutely loved y'alls clothes too. The dresses at the beginning were so pretty onstage and the closer outfits were very non-stereotypical but very wearable and you pulled it off with style!! I hate that we won't see y'all again but y'all could always come visit us in Petal! ... Again, congrats to everyone this weekend y'all were amazing.

Congrats to Petal, A'ville, and Enterprise!!! I went to the comp. and I thought that everyone was just great. Petal had one of the most fun shows I've seen and did a wonderful job in their ballad as well. Enterprise was as close to perfect as ever!! Its crazy how everyone in their choir can get choreo. so precise!! And CONGRATS AVILLE!!! I love you guys and I think yall are great!!!

Oh and Aville remember to watch what you say when you get a lil taste of victory because it can sometimes come back to kill ya!! I promise any group that you beat in the past won't make the same mistakes again because they get a suggestion sheet just like you did. Remember that you can still get beat so bite your tounge!!

hey guys wuts up??

For my first post, i just wanted to say how awesome the competition at opelika was. This is my first year in show choir, only my second in choir at all, and i could have never expected that there would be so many wonderful people there.

Opelika- you guys were great. we loved our hosts, and loved watching yall at Auburn. Thank u so much for letting us come to your place.

West Jones-you guys rocked. I loved your choreography, and as i told yall in the locker room, i thought u had us beat.

Petal- i mean, really? what can u say?

Americus- thank you for letting us and the other groups use your drums. I know it must have been a hassle and inconvenience to let other groups pound on ur drums all day, and we are very grateful for it.

Pell City- i wish i had seen you guys, i know it would have been a real treat. Maybe in Homewood? i dont know if yall r there or not!

AND THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN PARK SINGERS FOR THE BEST TIMES EVER!!! JESSIE YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST ATTITUDE ABOUT THE SHOW AND PERFORMING AND I NEVER TELL YOU THAT BUT U DO. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU FOR THAT! TELL ME AT SCHOOL IF U SEE THIS! LOL! CHARLES! U KNOW UR THE MAN!!!!

Man last weekend was fun. The skool was awsome(i wish r skool was that big!) I cant believe how close the scores was in the end! In all it was fun. I met some new people so i am alright. I wish they would have pictures like they did at "Best of the South" that waz pretty kool. So the season is winding down and is kinda depressing but its been fun. I cant wait 2 go back to Opelika next year!

Ok, now that I am home and situated, let me add my two cents...

First and foremost, South Jones and Homewood, we missed yall, no really, we missed you BAD. I won't go any further but I hate I won't get to see yall this year. Good luck the rest of the season.

To everyone at Opelika- yall put on another wonderful competition, everything was perfect, thanks a lot!

Lauren and JT- yall were a blast to watch emcee, and the skit at the end was hilarious even though i'm told they started the music too early, and I know a lot of people will be sad to see you guys graduate.

As for the A groups...

Pell City- you guys have come so far, the show was great, and the vocals and the energy was amazing. I knew it was between yall and Spain Park, congrats.

Spain Park- I don't need to say anything, yall were great and deserved to win. The vocals are always amazing.

West Jones- I know yall have had a lot to deal with lately but the casual observer wouldn't have known, yall put on a great show as always and I was happy to see yall do well.

Prattville- yall came out of nowhere and put on a great show, taking home a trophy is always a nice way to reward all that hard work. Keep it up!

As for my own group, the Americus-Sumter Front and Center- (I won't speak to them directly because I am the only person from Americus that is nerdy enough to come here regularly) they came a long way from the fall show in december, and I know they worked hard to put on a great show. I was so proud of them and I wish they would have placed higher, but A has gotten so tough and that's just the brakes. The ballad was great, Chase did an awesome job with the solo. Congrats to my boy Corriere Wilson for winning the solo competition for the SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR! He couldn't perform because they took his music home after awards were announced, so come 10 pm or whatever it was everything was already back in Americus. Whoops!

as for the AA groups...

Petal- the show wasn't quite as entertaining as I would have liked, but I haven't seen Petal since 2002 and i'm told that is their style. I was entertained, but I was entertained because I knew it was Petal and of course everything in the show was perfect. Maybe I just didn't really know any of the songs, but I do remember getting chills and saying to myself "oh my gosh" because of the perfect vocals. I haven't and will not see Clinton this year, but Petal's closer has got to be one of if not the song of the year. Definately deserved to win, and i'm sure they will win many more this year.

Albertville- wow you guys have REALLY come a long way in the last 3 years. I was amazed at the vocals and the energy, I knew you would finally beat Enterprise and you guys deserved it. You guys are also making us in the south look good with your performances in the midwest so definately keep that up! I can really tell that Mike's confidence in yall is skyrocketing, and I wonder if yall aren't the next Petal.

Enterprise- its always tough to lose, but the south has finally caught up with you guys. There is no shame in that though, and Baker is amazing and I know yall will be back year after year after year. Another great show, the other groups just had a little bit more this year. Good luck next year, I know the "machine" will be tough again next year.

Congragulations to everyone, and I look forward to seeing yall next year, hopefully I can come back to Opelika to watch again next year.

all i know is that is was TIGHT competition in the A group... from what i understand there was 1 point dividing 2nd RU us,(WEST JONES) from The GC (SPAIN PARK) and there was a .5 differential b/t each groups...
it was very close and all top three took a caption award...

ya it was really close......I wish we could have seen pell city cause after seeing west jones i dont think i could have seen any one better.....anyways good luck to everyone going to homewood next weekend!!!!!

Spain Park was great... They were also very cool to us in the guy's dressing room after congratulating and stuff.. so i now have a new liking and respect for them...

Pell City.. well they were *different*... personally thought we were gonna beat them ... vocals were kinda screaming w/out dynamics.. but hey dont wanna be a sore loser....

Another thing is that it will be a toss up next week @ homewood between these 3 groups i think.. b/c of the 1 point differential this week... *anything can happen**... cant wait for next week...
