I have to say that I agree that it takes away from the whole CLASSY thing...but on the other hand we had some sort of butt roll/shake/shimmy thing while I was in Ovations every year and I LOVED it..of course what do I know b/c this is coming from the person that was voted like most sexual dancer and malested (SP?) my chair last year in Real Deal!! It's fun to do but I have heard lots of judges comments on how it takes away from the show...so i guess the whole point of this is that I really dont know what I think
ha...I can live with a group doing it one year, but with some groups it's like it becomes a tradition to do it every single year in the guys number. Anyways, I guess I got everyone off topic. Back to Petal.
You're preaching to the choir on this one... however, I don't here any of our fellow female SCCers commenting on this statement. They're the ones that always scream during the booty shake session.

I totally disagree about the "butt-shaking"! Every group has a lot of it. Besides, the croud loves it. The guys really enjoy the excitement!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, if there's one thing I'm getting kinda of tired of in the South, it's "butt-shaking" in the guys numbers. I know you get a rise out of the crowd, but I think you also lose a little class in the process.

I completely 100% agree with you! I mean, let's be honest, ANYONE can turn around and shake their butt. It's just kind of pointless, and not classy AT ALL!
