to tell you the truth i don't remember either...well there was that one song were the girls danced and the male soloist sang...but i don't know...maybe they didn't have one...we will have to wait for an attache expert to post...

still they were awesome...love the props and backdrops very creative and versatile..

I haven't had the chance to see Enterprise yet, but I am hearing great things. Anyone who has seen them, are all of these good things I am hearing true? I hope to get to see them this weekend.

Anyway, that was a fun weekend! Prelims were extremely intense, and finals was just amazing.

Enterprise- HOLY CRAP! Y'all were SO good! And y'all have some of the best performers. I love y'all's choreography, and I'm moving to Enterprise. Get it Norma.

Pascagoula- I love you guys, and I'm sad we wont get to see y'all anymore. I'll be at SCN though to watch. Congratulations!

Jackson Academy- First off, Ms. Dianne, John and I had the most fun ever gossiping with you on Friday night. That pretty much made my weekend. I had so much fun hosting the Jr. High kids and watching the high school perform. I think both groups are beginning to "get" show choir now, and within the very near future, both will be great.

South- Y'all have improved so much since JCJC, and I'm really glad y'all edited the girls' number slightly ;). Good luck at Belmont!

Opelika- I love your show! Especially the opener.

Albertville- I didn't get a chance to see y'all Saturday, but I'm sure y'all did awesome.

Tupelo- I'm not really sure what happened, but I would have had you guys in finals for sure.

Petal- I still haven't seen y'all's show; hopefully that will change this weekend.

Clinton- I had so much fun hosting you guys! Although, I've never been more scared in my life than when the clothes racks wouldn't fit through the doors! Y'all continue to have amazing shows with flawless choreography. Again, Anastasia rocked!

I'm sorry that happened, but we were all very busy and probably had somewhere else to run and help. I hope you figured it out!

Well if it makes you feel better i think that Homewood was very well represented by Hilary and the others that i named a page before...yall were so nice and i do believe yall ran a very classy competition!

Edited for my poor spelling!

It did "just fall". They were in a hurry and going crazy backstage with all of their sets and everything, and one of the clothes racks got carried aroud to the wrong side (stage right), so they were trying to bring it back stage left, and it got caught on the curtain and pulled it. The curtain didn't fall right then becase it got hung up on itself. Then when they were running off to change someone brushed it, and it fell.

So we just had to kinda pull it, and stick a music stand up under it for finals, but it was a pretty bad idea, but it's all we could do in such a short time.

The curtains that used to be there got torn down before the competition, so that's why we had the boxed off area to change and we pulled that one curtain all the way around.

Wow that freakin sucks!!... all i know is one minute the curtain was up and the next it was hanging lol... i was like what the heck! lol Clinton was still amazing though... and I think Homewood is the greatest competiton ever! woot woot! (even though we didn't perform) congrats to all the finalists!... and kudos to Jackson Academy's stage crew.. after their props did the whole domino effect thing instead of standing there like idiots they layed down behind the risors.. good job!!

theres plenty of room for the "Pasca-tier Impa-tions" and "The Net-pact" to coicide together. very possible

that works lol.....and by the way we were the first to perform and our hosts left us after we performed...the only thing they said was good job and left we didnt know where anything was. but overall i loved the competition except for it being crowed during attache(WHO WAS FREAKIN AWSOME)

.......................anyway......
Homewood is still my favorite competition. The members of the network are some of the nicest people I have met and other than a few setbacks, everything ran very smoothly. Thanks to the Mr. Thorne and all of the network for providing such a classy competition.

umm........yea. see hurricane katrina like COMPLETELY obliterated that county and Long Beach especially. The high school its self doesn't exist anymore.

No you are wrong...the high school was not damaged at all.
The administration decided to put show choir after school...not as a class...the director was told to teach a concert choir period, a junior high choir period and general music class.
The director said no....she had worked for 10 years to build this up and she told them to get a younger director who didn't know any better. She is now the director of Jackson Academy.
Long Beach has no show choir now at all. The new director does not know anything about puttting one together.
Long Beach set the bar for the 30 and under show choirs. For 3 years they took 1st place in their division at EVERY competition ( 4 or 5 each year) and always made it to FINALS and placed in finals....receiving BEST VOCALS at PEtal one year against the bigger groups and receiving 3 rd runner up at NEW YORK FAME competition and the Orlando FAME Competition. The director was the first director to bring in Shawn Eck and use him for several years before anyone else used him here in Mississippi.
So Long Beach basically killed their show choir.

Mark Schultz's "Time Of My Life"???

How was "And I Am Telling You"? (Soloist?)

No, as in the one from Dirty Dancing: "I've had the time of my life, and I've never felt this way before...etc."

And Anastasia sang "And I Am Telling You." Needless to say it was amazing!

More later.
