By the way, I spoke with Mrs. Carter tonight and she said there were 9 groups competing and there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in solo competition. Solos are like last year. (Everyone sings on stage!)
Mrs. P

Do you have any idea what nine groups are there?

Usaully small groups don't make finals.
It's just the feeling of knowing you made it to finals.

You wouldn't understand.srry:/

No I get what you're saying, just doesn't make logical sense to have 6 prelim groups, and then like 5 finals groups perform again. lol

What I was saying was you could just do away with divisions all together and have that be your finals there, give out placements for 1st through 6th and captions. Each group only perform once, and treat it as Finals.

Or, maybe you could have all 6 groups perform in Prelims and only have 3 go into Finals and give out captions there.

Just suggestions.

Why on earth would you have finals if you only have 6 groups performing in prelims? There's your finals, right there.

Maybe by your standards, yes, it will be a "boring" competition. However, look at who is coming- most are smaller schools who do not frequently get the chance to place among the powerhouses and almost never make it to finals. A competition like this gives those smaller schools the chance to have their joyous moment that may not be had otherwise. If my school makes it to finals, I will be celebrating like no other, especially by sharing in a great closing for the seniors at my school. If you think it will be boring, NO one is asking you to come. Honestly, if your school isn't involved, I don't think you're entitled to an opinion. But to those smaller schools who may have just as much heart as the show choir powerhouses, but maybe not the numbers or the experience, it's going to be an amazing day. Too bad you're going to miss it.
