Does any one know if finals are in order of day time placement, or if they are in random order?
In the past, finals at Heelan has typically been reverse daytime placements. Not saying it will be that way this year, but yeah.
It wasn't Sioux Falls Washington either! Sorry!
I KNEW it wasn't Sioux Falls, yet my dad INSISTED that he talked to one of their parents and it was them. This isn't really relevant, but I was totally right.
^ It's been updated, again. It looks like the major changes this time were the mysterious Washington HS dropped out as did Spirit Lake while Harlan joined.
This frustrates me to no end because I really wanted to know who that Washington was.
This is turning out to be one super interesting competition! Lots of returning groups and some new groups have joined the scene. I'm excited to see how this one will turn out!
I'll make an updated predictions list:
GC: Sioux City East
1RU: Gretna
2RU: Lewis Central
3RU: Westwood
4RU: Le Mars
5RU: Harlan
There are still some mysteries to some of these groups. I think the GC and 1RU are set. If I'm correct my 2RU - 5RU haven't competed in competitions yet. Le Mars competed this past week at the Iowa High School Music Association show choir festival where they earned a "I" rating. Westwood was supposed to perform, but according to the IHSMA website, they scratched; what that means for their show, who knows? Harlan I believe is in their first year of having a competitive show choir. They also earned a "I" rating at contest this week, a difficult task to achieve so I'm holding them in high regards and have high hopes for them.
Like always, I have a conflict in the afternoon, but should HOPEFULLY make it down in time for what should an EXCITING finals competition! Good luck to ALL of the groups performing this day!

^ Thanks for the updated schedule. It looks like, for the most part, the major changes were O'Gorman, Skutt Catholic, and Walnut MS withdrawing and then Washington and Tri-Center joining which all affected performance times. It's all been updated above except for...
Does anyone have any information on "Washington High School"? That's all that the schedules lists above and I'm somewhat confused. It doesn't appear to be Washington HS from Sioux Falls, SD as they're attending a different competition that day according to their calendar and it shouldn't be CR Washington as they're a 4A group, not 3A. So… is this a new competitive show choir in Iowa? There are a lot of Washington High Schools out there… so any help would be appreciated so this school can be represented above!
Confirming that it's NOT any of the CR Washington groups! We'll be at Kennedy that day!

I'm not for sure, but there's a possibility it could Cherokee Washington High School from Cherokee Iowa. They're a 3A school from Northwest Iowa that is in the same district as Le Mars and other surrounding schools.

When I was typing out the schedule, I noticed KnightLights was a women's group. On the paper copy that I have, it lists them as a prep group. The Prep group division is separate from the Women's. 1A is separate from 2A as well.
Ok, cool, thanks! For some reason I thought 1A/2A might have been combined. For now, I put O'Gorman "KnightLights" with the women's division since that makes sense, but if it needs changed later just post and we'll make the change. We have plenty of time.
I feel bad for East "New Sound" and Hinton "Soundwaves" - they must feel so lonely.
Historically O'Gorman "KnightLights" has been an advanced women's group and according to the O'Gorman school website, "KnightLights" appears to be an advanced women's group again this year. So perhaps that was just an error on the schedule? Is that correct? If so is East "New Sound" the only competing Prep group or are the Women's/Prep divisions combined?
Are the 1A and 2A divisions combined? Sometimes I feel like I see competitions schedules with "School Name (1A/2A)" so I just wasn't sure if daytime awards have 1A/2A combined or separate. Iowa really confuses me sometimes.
