Don't know about you guys but someone better get the Enterprise show up on YouTube quick, fast, and in a hurry cuz if they beat Albertville they must be amazing! And with no set? LOL! How did this happen? Can someone who was at the comp give us some insight please?

Enterprise was clearly the best. They don't need a set because they're doing show choir, not theater. Albertville's show was out there, to each their own. But when it came down to singing and dancing, Enterprise was the best. Plain and simple.

To clear something up, none of the judges at the competition choreographed for Enterprise. Randy Sage did help with the girls group, Esprit, but not with Encores. Encores was choreographed by Stephen Todd, April James, Linda McKekren (I know I probably killed the spelling, sorry Linda) and the choir itself. At least one number was choreographed by choir members, and they changed some choreography from another number. Linda's number, "Cry Me a River", is untouched.

I have been lurking for awhile and haven't made a comment in years, but I will say this and I say it as an individual, not linked with any choir (mainly because my choir has dissolved into a women's choir...)

Enterprise was very clearly the best choir at the competition last night. Their choreography and vocals were unmatched. Their show design was upbeat and engaging. It was a fantastic show and placed exactly where it should have.

Albertville's show was very different and nontraditional of what Southern show choir is. That being said, they did it well. I was not engaged the entire time and wished they would have made the opening number shorter so they could have really showed off their vocals and choreography. You have to be careful when you work a musical theater number into a show like that. It was just too big for the rest of the show. Their visual effects were great though!

Auburn Varsity Singers did a great job as well. They had great vocals and were sharp with their choreography.

Homewood had a great show as always. It was there vocally and it was there visually. My only criticism of Homewood's show is that no one knew their songs. They seemed familiar at times, but I couldn't ever place it. Did a great job though.

That being said, I would have ordered it this way:
GC - Enterprise
1RU - Homewood
2RU - Albertville
3RU - Auburn
4RU - Madison

By the way, for those who didn't get a chance to see Madison, they did an AMAZING job. They were up there singing for the right reasons and having a great time doing it. They didn't have any flashy sets or crazy visual effects. It was refreshing to see a A group get up there and rock it like they did.

First of all, Randy Sage, the judge you are referring to, is probably the most unbiased of any judge. In the morning, a group he actually did choreograph a song for, Homewood girls, he had in last place so there goes your conspiracy theory. Next, with the ranking system we use, the outcome was not even close. We do judges ranking and then throw out their highest and lowest ranking. Enterprise finished with all first place votes, Albertville finished with two 2nd place votes and a 3rd place vote, and Homewood finished with two 3rd place votes and a 2nd place votes. As for your theory about Auburn, I would save that for your choir room. You never know who might read this and for you to say your group was better than the GC might offend a few people. I think the judges spoke pretty unanimously. I hope all of you had a wonderful time at the competition and we look forward to seeing yall next year. Good luck the rest of the year.

I just want to point out that the dude who wrote that is an alumnis and is no longer in the group.. so please dont hold that comment to Varsity singers this year Congrats to all the groups! Everyone did amazing!!! I had a blast... !

I was at the comp and was not too impressed with any of the groups except Albertville... one reason they could have won is because their dance coach was one of the judges and that 60 people on stage will obviously sound louder and better than 10 less people. Dont get me wrong, enterprise had a good show but did not seem any better than Homewood or Auburn in my opinion

Thats not true lol...my director is a fair man and he would NEVER choose a panel of judges that has helped any contestants..plus if one of the judges helped enterprise during practices and stuff to get ready for the season, they would have announced that person under choreographers when they introduce the groups..just saying :D Everyone worked very very hard and i'm proud of everyone!

Wait....let's clear something up quickly. I am from Enterprise, and none of the judges on the panel work with Enterprise's mixed group. The only judge that worked with Enterprise at all this year was Randy Sage, and that was only with the girl's group, Esprit. While it's true that Esprit won the women's division, they were clearly the best group there and deserved to win. Also, during choreographed numbers they dance with 50- not 60.

This was our first show choir competition since moving from Burbank, CA, and what a great time we had. Congrats Enterprise. And Albertville put on a great show too!

Everyone did great! I was at the sound board the entire day, from 7am to 11pm.
I thought CenterStage was going to get Grand Champ. but Enterprise definitely deserved it. Congrats to all!

Wait, wait , wait... their dance coach was one of the judges? Is this true? And if so isn't that a MAJOR conflict of interests?

Major props to Enterprise and to every group who performed! I'm very interested in seeing Enterprise now... Does anyone know where else they will be competing at this season?

Albertville AND Enterprise will both be at the Wheaton-Warrenville competition next month.
