Yes, Celebration is still competing in advanced...were competing at glendora because we were invited to....And if your going to say thats its not fair for an advanced group to compete in an intermediate group...maybe you should think about the other intermediate groups form other schools (burroughs, Diamondbar) who are mostly made up of their advanced groups...so it seems fair to me either way.

oh my god! why are you guys making such a big deal out of everything? I didnt say it was made up of advanced people. I said that you had advance people in your intermediate group.....can we all just maybe get over this already because its old now and im sure we have lots of oher things to tlak about

Well if its so unfair then i dont see why we were invited to go...all we did is except an invitation...we didnt request one...so if your so worried about it maybe you should go complain to the glendora director

no i totally understand what your saying...but us as a group cant do anything about what competitions we go to so it sucks when we have to hear people complain about things that arent our fault

some groups like to compete both advanced and intermediate..i suppose it gives them more competitions, more chances to win..but it sounds like a fun competition regardless of who's going!
BUT, if an advanced choir is competing against a novice, mid-level or intermediate choir they are, in reality, competing unfairly. An advanced choir has NO need to compete against an intermediate choir unless, of course, they are no longer at the advanced level. Of course "Celebration" has always..........(remainder of post left out because of personal thoughts, which could be taken as being very negative).

actually our intermediate and beginning groups are made up of some of the younger and newer people in the program. they try really hard and rarely are there people from our advanced groups in their groups.

As people are probably begining to notice, We werent invited to many of the major competitions this year...(We still havent competed and some groups are already on their 3 comp) We accepted the invitation this year so that we could compete. Not to steal trophies or to get an automatic first place...we only want to perform. And in my honest opinion most of our group is definatly intermediate/novice. but they all work really hard to make themselves advanced. About 3/4 of our group has never been in show choir. So we really have to work harder to get better.
i dont think that its fair at all, because i know that burroughs isnt made up of their adv. group, so i dont know why you think that. i know that Hart n Soul has help from a few guys in SV but that doesnt mean that all of a sudden we are going to be an adv. group. and same with burroughs and diamond bar, just cuz they get help doesnt mean that they are advanced level. its unfair cuz you guys know that you are advanced and you will be competing in advanced for the rest of the year. but if you were to get first, some other group that is an intermediate wont get it cuz you will be there. i think its completly unfair and i cant stand the fact that you guys are competing in our level!! it just really pisses me off. and i know that i sound like a biotch, but its unfair whether* you think so or not!

I wish everybody good luck for the glendora competetion. I hope we all have bundles and bundles of fun!!! lol Hopefully I can meet some new people in some other choirs. See you all there!!!
Dr. Trevor, Glendora's director, wanted to provide an opportunity for the mid-level and novice groups to compete. That's why this competiton is not for advanced groups. The Arcadia Pow Wow had always been for advanced and intermediate groups (two divisions) until this year when it became one division because so many advanced groups wanted to attend. There are a few other competitions out their that are not for advanced groups.
If this competition is for mid-level and novice groups, and NOT advanced groups, why is Celebration competing? Are they no longer an advanced group?
