HA sorry bout that it is very confusing... I ment to say I have never seen Auburn and I didnt go to Auburn last year. And why is Eufaula going 3rd when they are normally good... and you correct my spellikd with Eufaula, as you did with sophOmore, so i spelled it right this time
Well, I have nothing against Spain Park becuase you guys did good. My problem is strictly with Auburn. There show was ok. It did NOT compare to Opelika, It did NOT compare to Homewood, it did NOT deserve to get first place. This isn't the first time that Auburn has snuck into the Top 3 when they SHOULD NOT have!!!
Before they announced the winners I said it will be Homewood and Opelika at the top in some order, and 3rd place was a toss up. So, when they said Park Singers got 3rd I wasn't surprise. Then they announced Opelika as 2nd place finishers. And so I KNEW Homewood had won it. I even looked over there and saw them all holding hands and crouching down (getting ready for a victory dance). I was 110% sure. NO DOUBTS. Then they announced Auburn HS as winner and I almost DIED. They were the most MEDIOCRE winners I have EVER SEEN in 8 years of show choir.
Trust me on this one. Besides being a little bias about Opelika some times, I will ALWAYS judge other show choirs EQUALLY (and I am 98% of the time RIGHT about the outcome). I didn't even have Auburn HS in my Top 5. There is NOOOOO way that they should have won. It's that simple!!!
i agree that the lineup is weird... usually auburn is pretty good about putting the best groups last, but i don't know what's going on this year. i can't really comment on the judging because we placed last year instead of homewood, but i will say that i was impressed with auburn's show so that part isn't necessarily biased.
That lineup SUX!!! They should NOT mix up the Girls performances with the Mixed choirs. The judges will NOT remember those that perform early and how they compare with the groups that perform later escecially since there isn't a FINALS!!! Advantage goes to Enterprise HS for going last... They are performing after a girls group(be it a good one)... but STILL!!!
As always Auburn finds a way to make their competition SUCK. Everyone always come at the END to see all the BIG show choirs... Opelika's performing at 10:50am and Homewood's performing at 12:55pm. Is this the thanks that "Ovations" gets for finishing 2nd there last year. Auburn remains to be one of the WORST competitions year in and year out. And there judging there always sucks. Last year Homewood didn't even place... and AUBURN got first (Hmmm... home cooking). Of course the next week Homewood WON at Southern Showcase (beating Enterprise, Albertville, and Eufaula). That just doesn't make sense. Btw, this is always the only competition that Auburn HS competes in. Hmm... suspicious.
Anyway, I'm still going to watch, BUT I'M NOT PLEASED. Everyone should boycott the AU Jazz Festival next year!!!
