Mr. Sean Benz is originally from the small town of Windom, MN. I am the oldest of the 3 Benz children. My middle sister, Erin, is heading to South Dakota State University to pursue a degree in Exercise Science this fall, while my youngest sister, Quinn, is going to Worthington Middle School this fall. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I wanted to follow in my grandfather's footsteps. Receiving private vocal training from my grandfather, I wished to teach others to sing and inspire them to follow their dreams and passions. Mr. Benz received a degree in Music Education-Composite (Vocal and Band) from South Dakota State University, where I was heavily involved in over 6 music ensembles, starring in 3 operas, and being a featured soloist for the Men's Chorus and Concert Choir. After graduating in the fall, I became a substitute teacher in 9 school districts in southeastern South Dakota, subbing for every grade and content over 3 times. Besides teaching, I am a professional musician, playing and singing music from the 1950's to the 1970's. I also am an avid hunter and I enjoy going on hunting trips with my friends and family. I also enjoy playing guitar and piano during my spare time. This will be my first year at Dakota Valley and I cannot wait to work with you all. Go Panthers!!
