Very interesting daytime placements in class 3A! Definitely guessing finals round is going to be absolutely intense.

Thank you for the updates, Mr. Behrens!

Predictions:

GC. Pella
1RU. Center Point-Urbana
2RU. Bishop Heelan
3RU. Emmetsburg
4RU. Gretna
5RU. Dubuque Wahlert

This one is very difficult to predict. I do believe Pella will be at the top, but after that it could honestly go quite a few different ways. And I wouldn't be surprised to see someone grab that top spot from Pella. I think Wahlert is the big question mark here. They haven't competed yet so I have no idea what kind of show they have. That is why I have them at 5RU, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them finish anywhere from GC to even missing finals.

I honestly love these 2A/3A competitions. This one reminds me of Hinton's competition in NW Iowa. They may not have the 4A power quality, but they are definitely not lacking in heart. Good luck to everyone competing!

Des Moines Christian School is looking forward to Stars on Stage this weekend! We are so fortunate to have our Junior High group coming as an exhibition first off!

Good luck to all of the groups competing here this weekend! We've been praying for you!

So, I've never been to a 2A/3A Competition like this, and I'm going to see my nephew in Waterloo Columbus. Tell me about it-who usually takes prizes, captions, etc? I'm familiar with a few of the groups (Wahlert, Anamosa, Pella) from Touch of Class and Great River.

Javon,
I think you will enjoy your day at West Liberty. There are some very competitive groups competing. Wahlert, Heelan, CPU, Pella, and Gretna all consistently make night shows at contests, even against 4A competition. Emmetsburg, West Branch, Anamosa, West Burlington, Columbus and DSM Christian are also used to winning their division at most competitions. To be honest, the field is very stacked, and I anticipate scoring will be very close from top to bottom. West Liberty usually gives caption awards for Most Creative show, Best Costumes, Most Intense Moment, and other awards, so that increases the competition level amongst the groups. Hope you enjoy Saturday!

Wow, this is a loaded 3A field (with some great 2A groups too). I have heard rumor that WLib may add a 6th group to the finals, due to the quality of groups competing. Should be a great competition!

This is one of the better "Small School" competitions around.
