I know that going into finals LC was only 4.5 points from 5th place. Guess everyone improved a lot in finals.
Great Job everyone yesterday. Congrats East!!!

Wow I really wish I could've been there to see how all the groups looked a week after competing against each other. I mean a lot of groups (Lincoln SW, Grand Island NW, Papillion LaVista, Lewis Central, Grand Island Senior) competed against each other at The Midwest Cup at UNL and so it is interesting to see these results based off of last weekends competition. Wow!

Does anyone know point totals from both prelims and finals?

The problem with Mitchell is that from a judging standpoint they had much weaker vocals than all of the other finalist groups. They did not miss out on the finals by a large margin but they still came in seventh.

Mitchell always seems to have a lot of problems with their vocals. Their choreography is always so crisp, clean, and amazing... but choreography can't carry the entire show!

Good job to all groups performing today!

From what we could peace together at the competition was that at onalaska the judging panel consisted of 3 choreographers and 2 exclusively music professionals and at out competition our 3 judge panel and 2 critique judges consisted of just music professionals and on choreographers. This led us to believe that it was the vocals that were the deciding factor in positioning and that mitchell did not have good enough vocals to manage a finals appearance.

I have not seen any numbers nor should this be considering remotely official but that is what we were able to assume...

But overall it was a fantastic and fun competition and I congratulate all the groups that competed.

Ummm... Benton Community's Prep Group is called Jubilation, Inc. Is that the one that got 1st runner-up in Prep? Edit: Question Answered. Yes it is. Thanks

What happened to Mitchell? I thought they were really good this year...Are those the actuall ranks, or just the order of performance in finals?

I'm very curious as well... I have not seen Mitchell's show this year, but placing 3rd at Onalaska, they must be great.

I looked around and couldn't find a topic for this competition yet! I'm beyond excited for it, I absolutely love this school and everything about the competition!

I hope I can get one of those bears this year! Last year they had run out by the time I got there...

Who else can't wait?! Only a week away!
